Job Description

Our client is one of the largest motor dealerships on the South coast and due to their continued success and growth, are currently recruiting for a Car Sales Executive for their Exeter dealership. This is a great opportunity to be part of a group that have over 20 sites and 800 staff, selling in excess of 21,000 vehicles a year.

As a Car Sales Executive, you’ll perform a vital role in translating customer enquiries into sales through creating the right environment, using an established sales process - exceeding customer expectations is key to developing long lasting relationships with customers.

You’ll meet targets for the sale of vehicles, accessories and associated warranty, finance and insurance products to maximise profitability. Responsibilities include receiving payments from customers, embracing the Groups vision and values, opening and closing the showroom and security of display vehicles. Other duties include:

  1. Achieve sales performances, meet sales targets and maximise profit gained from each transaction and maintaining the potential for repeat business.
  2. Promote all services of the Group to customers when the opportunity arises.
  3. Seek to constantly improve knowledge of vehicles, finance products, warranties and accessories. As well as gain an understanding of consumer protection legislation as it affects new car retail sales.
  4. Ensure that all contact (written, oral and personal presentation) with customers is conducted in such a manner as to enhance the Group’s reputation.
  5. Ensure that vehicles offered for demonstration and for sale are in a safe condition, and meets the preparation standards laid down by the Group.
  6. Ensure that documentation procedures are performed as laid down by the Group, and liaise closely with other departments in this respect.
  7. Ensure that all FSA requirements are achieved and followed.
  8. Promote a positive attitude to create a cohesive team which will take the business forward.
  9. Attend all training courses required to carry out your job role and continued development within the Group.

To apply for this job, you need to have recent experience as a sales professional, ideally with Motor trade sales experience. You must be able to demonstrate that you are a high achiever, who thrives on challenges and ultimately “closing the sale”. Excellent communication and negotiating skills are a prerequisite, along with high levels of energy and enthusiasm.

Remuneration and career progression will be of a standard expected from a leading automotive group and the salary is a 10K – 12K basic, ote 28K uncapped plus a company car.
